Will Your Club Take Out the 2010 Army Challenge Award?
This season, your footy club and your players have the chance to win the Army Challenge Award, which recognises the values of Courage, Initiative and Teamwork.
The Award aims to inspire these values, which are essential for your team's success on and off the field.
Your Club Could Win $5000
Local footy clubs who can get their supporters to show support for their club by playing "Kick for Your Club" online will have the chance to win the Club Award.
Winning the Club Award not only creates an enormous amount of recognition for your club, but you'll also walk away with a fantastic prize of $5000 cash.
Amazing Footy Experience to be Won
Players from your club are also in the running for the Players Award.
Each week your club can vote for a player who shows the values of Courage, Initiative and Teamwork.
At the end of the season, the player with the most votes will win the Award, and they'll walk away with an amazing Melbourne Footy Weekend experience for them and a mate valued at $5000.
Here's How it Works
For your club to be in the running for the Club Award, all you need to do is get as many of your supporters as you can to play "Kick for Your Club".
It's an online footy game where you try and kick a footy as far as possible.
The more support you get for your club, the more metres you'll get, and the club with the most metres at the end of the season wins!
Start kicking by going to www.defencejobs.gov.au/armyaward/kickforclub.aspx
To be in the chance to win the Players Award, each week when your club enters game results into the SportingPulse Footyweb membership system, simply select a player for the Award. At the end of the season, the player with the most votes from each state and territory wins! More on how it works here.
Weekly Prizes
Each week, club supporters who play "Kick for Your Club" will have the chance to win some great prizes, like Rebel Sport vouchers and Sherrin Footys.
Keep Track of who is on top by going to www.defencejobs.gov.au/armyaward/kickforclub.aspx
During the season, you’ll be able follow the club and player leaderboards, and see who in your state is on top.
Making the Army Award a Success
We’ll be getting behind the Award during the season and creating awareness through the media and elsewhere to generate excitement and interest in the Award and in local footy. There will be promotion throughout SportingPulse network, regular email communications and also the involvement of the Award ambassador Glenn Archer. Good luck to your club for the 2010 Army Challenge Award, and don’t forget to visit the Army Award online.
